Videos that Shoot for the Stars

At Time in Space Productions we believe in human made greatness, turning your dreams into full productions that fit the needs of the modern viewer.

Our videos aim for the stars, creating passionate creativity with the flexibility to be posted on all of your platforms.

The process for full production is simple:

  1. Pre-Production: After calling with your idea. A script and/or storyboard with stage direction, filming location(s), and camera coordination will be presented as something to be discussed, altered, and planned out to fit your vision.
  2. Production: After agreeing on the direction of the video, we will put the plan into action. This includes meeting with everyone involved on location and filming an abundance of footage to make sure we have more than what we need and giving us an opportunity to add new ideas in the moment.
  3. Post-Production: With all our footage, editing begins to refine the vision into the curated content you were seeking. Here all footage is compiled, edited to its best quality, and highlighted with the right effects, animations, and voice-over, if requested.

These three stages can also be offered individually in certain cases.

Vertical Trajectory

The Passage de Venus was recorded on December 9th, 1874 and is considered to be the first motion picture ever captured. It shows the planet Venus as it travels in between Earth and the Sun. Since then, videography has grown to astronomical levels and sizes. Movies, television, and internet have nurtured the growth of video to fit any need and any fit. These days more video is watched than ever and in more places than once thought possible thanks to smartphones. After generations of wide screen videos being the standard, aspect ratios of all kinds are now being embraced and the age of the vertical video is here. This relatively new ability to draw attention to short, captivating footage inserted into a normal phone scroll, is one of the latest evolutionary traits of videography and offers new possibilities to shoot for the stars.

At Time in Space Productions we believe that versatility is key to being seen. Vertical, horizontal, and square aspect ratios are included in the pre-production process of all our videos to help your content adapt to your platform of choice, while still giving you the freedom to to stretch your audience across multiple spaces.

In order to produce the best video possible, multiple takes will need to be done with both vertical and horizontal filming. To capitalize on this, adding new content to each version can help to keep an audience member engaged multiple times with the same idea. Each aspect ratio offers new opportunities to build visual interest with blocking and motion that fits each new frame used. For example, lateral movement, like a car driving from left to right, conveys a different tone in a horizontal video than it does in a vertical video. The length of the road in highlighted in the horizontal video, whereas the length of the car is highlighted in the vertical one. Having objects pop in and out of frame in a vertical video can add emotion, humor, and intrigue, keeping the viewer paying closer attention for the short form video. Whereas a horizontal video can use more detail that can add further context for longer form videos and a viewer that might be looking for more understanding of the subject.
